Module: 1.1.9v Virtual Module: Developmental Trends 201
This module was revised in 2016 to incorporate social-emotional learning, character building and Quality Standards for Expanded Learning in California as part of CalSAC's work with the Expanded Learning 360/365 project and adapted to a virtual training as a part of the Virtual Training Project.
During this training, participants will deepen their understanding of physical, cognitive, and social-emotional developmental trends and how to determine whether activities are developmentally appropriate for different age groups.
NOTE: Participants must download and install the Zoom app prior to the session. Be sure to test your technology ahead of time and join the call at least 5 minutes early. (If you don't have access to a video-capable device, you may join on audio only using the phone numbers in the confirmation email.). Lastly, participants will be utilizing Google Docs during the session.

- Learn how to determine whether activities are age-appropriate
Content Overview:
Developmentall Appropriate Activities: Group Brainstorm
Participants will begin to think about developmentally appropriate activities through this hands-on activity. This activity will open the discussion of developmentally appropriate programming.
Age-Appropriate?
Participants will discuss the meaning of the term ‘Age-Appropriate’ and assess a variety of activities for different age groups.
Deliberate Engagement
Participants will form small groups and work to determine several activities suitable for each age group and then share those activities with the entire group.
