Module: 1.1.4v Virtual Module: Building Self-Esteem
During this training, participants will learn about the qualities of healthy self-esteem and some strategies for supporting young people as they develop positive self-esteem.
This module was revised in 2016 to incorporate social-emotional learning and Quality Standards for Expanded Learning in California, revised in 2019 to incorporate language to support mental health and wellness and adpated to virtual training as a part of the Virtual Training Project.
NOTE: Participants must download and install the Zoom app prior to the session. Be sure to test your technology ahead of time and join the call at least 5 minutes early. (If you don't have access to a video-capable device, you may join on audio only using the phone numbers in the confirmation email.). Lastly, participants will be utilizing Google Docs during the session.
In this training participants will:
- Identify the qualities of healthy self-esteem and how they relate to social-emotional skills.
- Learn strategies and activities to help children/youth develop healthy self-esteem.
