Module: 4.3.1 Energy and You
Energy and You is Activity Guide #1 in the 4-part curriculum Energenius Out-of-School Time Program designed for children and youth in out-of-school time (OST) programs. It is designed to engage children and youth to think about how they use energy, how energy is measured and paid for, and ways to save energy. This training module will prepare participants to deliver the activities from Energy and You as well as connect families to resources to help save energy and money.

In this training participants will
- Be able to facilitate activities in the Energenius® Out-of-School Time Activity Guide: Energy and You with children and youth.
- Be able to provide resources for saving money and energy for the families of the children and youth in their programs.
Content Overview:
What is Energy?
Participants will start to think about how they use energy on a daily basis.
Energy Round Robin
This activity gets participants thinking about ways to save energy in their everyday life. This is one of the activities from Energy and You.
Energy Conservation Slogans
Participants will experience a second activity from Energy and You. They will think about how to make the activity meet the needs of their children and youth.
OST Energenius Activity Guide: Energy and You
This activity allows participants to explore the remaining 2 activities in Energy and You. They will have a chance to plan how they will implement the activities and identify ways to make the activities meet the needs of the children and youth in their programs.
Engaging Families and Communities
Participants will engage in self-reflection about family engagement and think about ways to connect families to the activities and resources that children and youth will be receiving.
