Module: 1.6.4 Classroom Management 101
During this training, participants will learn creative approaches to classroom management, from the most basic strategies of communication to effective boundary setting. Participants will also reflect on more creative and personal approaches to classroom management in an effort to build confidence and ownership.
In this training participants will:
- Understand tricks and tools of transitioning, grouping strategies and attention getters as methods of communication for classroom management.
- Learn how behavior guidance strategies are classroom management strategies.
- Reflect on their personal approach to classroom management and how to be creative, personal and intentional in their approach.
Content Overview:
Setting the Tone for your Classroom
Participants will reflect on the character traits of an effective leader and how boundaries are an essential component, in addition to communication, to effectively managing a classroom.
Classroom Management Tools
Participants will review basic tools of classroom management and will learn proactive strategies for keeping children/youth engaged during and when transitioning between activities. Participants will reflect on these strategies as effective communication techniques.
Building Your Classroom Management Style
Participants will draw upon past experiences and learnings from previous lessons today to develop their personal classroom management style
